Searching For A Job To Match Your Flexible Lifestyle

Flexible Lifestyle

Whether you are a digital nomad that wants to work remotely while travelling around the world or you are a stay-at-home parent that just needs some flexibility, there are several jobs that you should look at getting that will allot you flexibility and freedom. As with anything each has their pros and cons, and some are more lucrative than others but here are a few that we thought we would share with you.

Real Estate Transaction Coordinator

– A Transaction Coordinator is exactly what it sounds like – they coordinate the details of a real estate transaction. This includes creating transaction timelines, following up with buyers and sellers to ensure they stay on top of their inspection, loan, and appraisal contingencies, and confirming that the proper documents are being signed by the correct parties. One of the nice elements of being a transaction coordinator is working from just about anywhere. There can be times when you need to ensure you are available during local time periods but with some advanced scheduling it can still provide you enough flexibility to deal with whatever lifestyle you are hoping to support.

Mobile Notary Public

A notary public is a role commissioned by a Secretary of State in each state. Getting a commission is usually pretty easy and you can be commissioned in more than one state. Some states require you take an online notary course before taking the state’s notary exam. Other states just require you take the state exam. By being licensed in many states you could travel throughout the country and pick up work here and there to subsidize your travel. Alternatively, if you are a stay-at-home parent, you can travel to businesses and residences to do notary work on a case by case basis when your schedule permits. For example, several mortgage lenders such as Quicken Loans offer clients a mobile notary so they don’t need a local office but can still get loan docs signed with a local notary. Most states limit how much can be charged for a notarized signature but allow notaries to charge for travel at their own rate.

Dog Walker

If you have little pawprints on your heart because you love dogs, you might also want to consider becoming a dog walker. Through services like Handy and Thumbtack, you can register as a dog walker in hundreds of cities so that when you are travelling you can pick up a few doggy dollars here and there.

Traffic School Instructor

While this role is a bit more limiting geographically, becoming a traffic school instructor is a role that offers a lot of flexibility for your schedule. There is the option to become a classroom instructor for driver’s education or driver’s safety courses. Alternatively, you can become a driving instructor where you take newer drivers out driving and provide in car training.

There are hundreds of other jobs you could explore such as a graphic designer, software developer, and work from home customer support rep. No matter what you decide to do, its safe to assume that you can find a job that offers you the lifestyle you are hoping for.
